Gallea Transfer & Storage, Inc. was founded by Gale & Dorothy Gallea in 1940, and began as a small freight operation. At that time, we were the only freight company in the area. As the Owatonna area businesses grew, Gallea Transfer also expanded, adding household goods relocation to the services provided. We partnered with Wheaton World Wide Moving in 1952, and celebrated our 50th year as an agent in 2002.

Eugene Gallea acquired ownership in April 1978. Due to an illness in 1986, Mr. Gallea was no longer able to manage the company as in his previous capacity. He promoted driver William Maxey to General Manager. Under his direction, our company began to grow again. In 1999, he sold the business to William after 13 years of management.

Gallea offers local and intrastate moving services, and freight between the Twin Cities and Owatonna area. Our drivers have completed Wheaton's training course, to assure you a top quality move. As an agent for Wheaton Interstate Moving, Gallea Transfer & Storage is able to perform all of your interstate and international relocations. With our knowledge and experience, we can make a move to the other side of the world as smooth as a move across town!
